The crackling of his speech returns to your mind a moment or two later, just images of stars transmitted. He doesn't seem to want to answer, but at least you get to see pretty stars in your mind.
It sounds like you gave up without committing to it Ertoth. That's okay though, i did too. I can only do several words. Who do you have to communicate with the most? Do you ever just stop because it's too frustrating?
It feels like he's laughing as images of Rnthyu pass your mind. The only one he bothers to talk to, apparently. No reason to stick around anywhere without her.
You get the sense he misses the stars, though he does visit frequently, and even if this part of him is here, the rest is 'home' as the feeling would be understood.
Once this is all over, a new star, and a return home.
Have you ever considered learning sign language? It may help with the miscommunications.
A feeling is given that he's tried this, but unless he picked it up fully, any mistakes made would likely result in the same thing. If he's incoherent, his nature makes him understood in the way easiest explained.
Like the way you see his speech as narration instead of dialogue. He seems rather aware of that, somehow.
