Recently I wrote a fanfic exploring some of Glepās past lovers, and now they finally have designs! In my headcanon he has had many lovers throughout his almost 1700 years of lifeādozens, perhaps over a hundredābut here is a look at six that especially made a mark. Also please check out my fanfic āA Drop in the Seaā to learn even more about them and their stories!
Glee was Glepās first love and best friend right from childhood. In a society where every critter was gifted with their own unique powers, she was considered among the most gifted of all. She could influence emotions with just a wave of her wand, spreading joy where there once was misery, but her mere presence was enough to bring a smile to anyoneās face, magic or not. She was the first in her class to earn her wand and was very popular among her peersādeservedly so. She was very talented and easy to make friends with. Yet, she always looked out for those who were left out, including the supposedly magicless Glep who made her smile as much as the other way around. They had a beautiful family together (with her being one of the few lovers he had children with) and they made each other very happy.Ā
Erotium was Glepās second love with a grand personality he would never forget. Glamorous and headstrong, she defied many of the expectations set for women in Ancient Rome. While women could represent themselves in court, it was considered unbecoming to do so frequentlyāErotium, however, considered herself passionate about justice and filed lawsuits for every perceived slight. Extravagance was looked down upon as frivolous, yet Erotium adorned herself head to toe in jewels bought with her settlement earnings. She didnāt care one bit about what others thought of her. Yet she was fiercely loyal to her husband and would follow him to the ends of the earthāwhich is exactly what she did as the fall of Rome sent them both on the run. It was the adventure of a lifetime and they wouldnāt have had it any other way.
Beatrice remains in Glepās memory as his most devastating loss. In life she was beautiful and doting yet vibrant and fun, with a deep passion for music and dancing. She loved nothing more than to dance the night away at the local tavernāhigh on nothing but the thrill of lifeāand of course Glep was always by her side with his own moves. They felt like they matched each otherās energy like no one else. Their marriage was exciting and joyful yet cut tragically short when Glep caught the Black Death and made the mistake of letting Beatrice get close. What was a bad cold for Glep was a death sentence for Beatrice and it broke him like no other, for her blood was on his hands. It was almost enough to make him never love again, but eventually he had no choice but to move forward. Yet still, centuries later, he refuses to forgive himself for this tragedy.
Betsy Ross (not to be confused with the traitorous wench who shares her name) was one of Glepās very few divorces and the most bitter one by far. A loyal subject of the English Crown, she was absolutely enraged to learn that her now-ex husband was fraternizing with those wretched revolutionaries, but thatās not the only thing that split them apart. She was shrill, demanding, and overly self-righteous and Glep took joy in pushing her buttons, all for the sick satisfaction of watching her lose her mind. Itās hard to say which one was the āvillainā of the relationship because both were so awful to each other. This continued even after they both moved on to lovers who treated them much better. Every time Betsy came back to demand another alimony payment from Glep, they fell into the same cycle. It has been centuries and she should be long gone by now yet she keeps coming back, living on pure spite.
Minnie [surname redacted] was a whimsical lady with a big heart. She lived like a princessāsinging, dancing, and twirling around in pretty dresses all day. Truthfully she wasnāt very good at it, being out of tune, off-beat, and not conventionally attractive, but she didnāt let that diminish her passion. She loved children more than anything, and although she could never have any of her own, she dedicated her life to bringing them joy as a party princess. Unfortunately even the tiniest tots could tell she wasnāt what a princess was āsupposedā to be and did not have nice things to say about her, which meant Minnie often came home from work in tears. She was incredibly sensitive and often took criticism to heart, but that didnāt stop her from doing what she loved. Nor did it stop Glep from loving her and trying to make her smile, long before it became the booming business it is today.
Marge Simpson (AKA Marzena Simpsinczki), the woman we all know and love! In my vision she grew up in a poor but very tight-knit family in Ukraine and came to America to attend fashion school until she later switched careers to pursue a new passion in real estate. She is classy and intelligent in addition to being a gorgeous bombshell, using her wit and charm to make others feel confident and at-ease in any conversation. She has a wide silly streak but also a deeply lonely interior, having few friends who really understand her while also struggling with her fatherās untimely death. Luckily she finds a friend, and quickly a lover, in Glep who has struggled with similar feelings of loss and isolation, and she goes on to make plenty more meaningful friendships! She was already fully capable of making her own way, but finding love and community made it a little easier.
