“Blitz’s new gear came the other day,” Jäger sayscasually as Bandit finishes unloading their weaponry from the helicopter.

Bandit manages not to look surprised, and shoves another boxof unused munition into Jäger’s hands. He hadn’t known Blitz was due anythingnew; his regular gear is perfectly fine, as far as Bandit is aware, and it’snot as though they have a strict uniform policy to follow – as long as it’sfunctional, Six really doesn’t care what they use.

(Though IQ did geta few odd looks when she responded to an emergency call in her old GSG-9workout clothes, and Doc had given her an hour-long lecture after wrapping up the cuts on her unprotected forearms.)

So he narrows his eyes at Jäger and finishes picking up hisbatteries. “I didn’t know he was getting anything new,” he replies flatly, notmissing the way Jäger falters minutely before following him across the runwayto the armoury.

“I only know because IQ mentioned it,” Jäger says with ashrug. “I thought he would’ve told you – his old Schnelle Kräftesquad sent it, or something. IQ says it looks good.”

Bandit resists the temptation to trip him down the steps ashe tries (and fails) to waggle his eyebrows suggestively.

“IQ thinks thoseawful purple jumpers Twitch keeps making her look good,” Bandit says pointedly,and Jäger hums in what he hopes is agreement. “And he didn’t mention it, so you’ve probably ruined his surprise, you dick.”

Jäger blinks. “Well, shit,”he says with a sigh. Bandit rolls his eyes in exasperation. “At least you’ve got somewarning?”

For once, IQ is right.

“What do you think?” Blitz asks nervously, arms held up in ahalf shrug and standing awkwardly in the middle of their room.

It’s a lot less bulkythan what he normally wears – the armour pads are sleeker and there are more ofthem, all a pale tan that Bandit thinks should look awful but somehow look wonderful. There’s a harness instead ofhis usual vest, strung with pouches and a new comm system that’s wired into hishelmet, all the same tan and all neatly contrasting the waxy brown jacket, which is sittingsnugly across his shoulders and making Bandit’s mouth uncomfortably dry. He might write whoever sent it a thank-you-notefor the cut of the collar alone; it stops just below his Adam’s apple and islined with what might be wool and Bandit reallyneeds to look away before his brain crashes any further.

“It’s fine,” Bandit says hoarsely, trying not to stare andfailing terribly, because really,even with Jäger’s warning, he never could have expected this.

“Yeah?” Blitz says, stepping forward and peering up at him,a faint blush staining his cheeks. His boots must have thicker soles than usualbecause they’re almost the same height and his eyes are so blue and Bandit reallycan’t stop his hands from coming to clutch as his waist.

“Yeah,” Bandit replies, and his stomach flip-flops wildly asBlitz grins cheerfully and gives a mock salute.

“My old commander sent it, since I sometimes go back to run missionswith them – said I shouldn’t go around looking shabby.” He pouts slightly, and Bandit’s fingers dig into his sideson their own accords.

“You never lookshabby,” he says, voice cracking and making Blitz’s grin wider. “It’s good. Suitsyou.”

Blitz’s hands come to rest on his shoulders (and he’s got gloves, and the gloves are leather, and Bandit thinks he might die-) and he arches a single eyebrow.

I’ve never watched PR but if you wrote a r6s AU of it I would watch the movie.
