In 1950, Joseph Mankiewicz's one-two punch of NO WAY OUT and ALL ABOUT EVE was a monumental professional achievement, coming just after his Oscar wins for writing and directing the 1949 film A LETTER TO THREE WIVES. Fox had a major, multi-Oscar-winning auteur on its hands, and the ad campaigns that they created/allowed for EVE and (especially) NO WAY OUT, were just as significant in of the evolution of Hollywood film poster design.
