After reading this book, I’m so mad at myself for not reading it sooner! It was really a good and entertaining read! It’s somewhat similar to that of an action packed, drama filled movie. Weber and Pete (whom I’ve never heard of) did an excellent job of building each character’s personality and also revealing some shocking characteristics and geniuses behind each one of them as well.

The Duncan’s run a very successful car dealership in Queens by day. But how they really make their money is revealed mid way through the book (and maybe I’m close minded, but it all came as a surprise to me). L.C. Duncan, the father-in-chief is well respected and feared by many. As he and his wife make plans to retire, he decides to leave the business in the hands of his hardest working son Orlando.

His other “skillfully talented” children are not too happy with his choice and his daughters London and Paris as well as his youngest son Rico don’t hesitate to voice their opinions. There’s also his trusted son-in-law and personal lawyer Harris who may have his own ulterior motives.

The family ‘s biggest rival and competition catches wind of the changes and uses this time as well as the effects of the recession to break the somewhat respected alliance that’s been held between the patriarchs of both families for years. Will they stick together as a family when shit literally hits the fan, or will they die trying?

Weber and Pete create an easy read, good for pure drama filled entertainment. It’s one of those books that you keep picking up to read one more chapter because you just want to know what happens next. The ending leads me to think that this will possibly turn into a series or at the very least a sequel will be published. In the meantime, I’m anxiously awaiting Weber’s new release coming in January 2013, “The Man in 3B”, which appears to be more of his typical writing style.
