catch me at the wonder ballroom aug 25!!!!!
I remember when I saw the Eric Andre show live people paid an extra $25 for a meet an greet and all those people went backstage and met the fake Eric Andre while the real one was outside drunk as shit singing with Butterfly from Digable Planets
I Went To The Eric Andre Show LIVE and Fainted....
"Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh are you ok? Can you hear me?!" I had no idea what was going on, but for some reason the girl who was standing behind me had a look of panic splashed across her face. I turned to my friend who had been standing beside me and she too looked worried. I was just confused. Why the hell was I on the floor with my legs laying limply to the side like udon noodles? I needed water. It was so hot. People in parkas and fanboys in plaid shirts were jumping and screaming. I just wanted water and to get out of the crowd. I looked up at my friend, I imagine the same way a toddler looks up at the first person they see after losing control of their chunky legs and said, "I need water. Can we get from out of here and get water?" I grabbed her hand and stumbled through the crowd. We had fought our way to the front right before the show started. I still felt dazed and confused. Again, like the toddler who hadn't quite gotten the hang of walking. I ran into a security divider. I would find a bruise on my leg the next day, but we made it to a slightly elevated platform on house left, several yards away from the bar. I sat there with my legs stretched out while I waited for my friend to come back with water. The show was still going on of course, and I doubt few others knew anything was wrong. I should have known when a guy said earlier in the evening that he was getting out of the crowd before things amped up, that trouble was ahead. I also should have paid attention to the warning about getting a poncho and food and crap being thrown into the audience. I thought..eh I'll just duck if anything comes my way. I'm short it won't hit me. Well friends, wet noodles they fly far. So does soda that smells like citrus. I felt like I was at a GWAR show. Yes I've seen GWAR live, but it's only because I used to work at a concert venue. It wasn't by choice. Those guys scare the crap out of me. Anyway, Eric Andre finally comes out. He crowd surfs to the stage. It's awesome. There are more flashing lights than you could shake a stick at. There was music. Yelling. Videos. Craziness..and then food. It was hurled into the audience. It was damp. I wish I had a poncho. My friend and I did not. We stood shoulder to shoulder as two girls who were barely five feet tall and ducked beside fan boys whose height made it seem like they were trees when we crouched. We crouched and screamed, and fought off the movement of the fan boy trees. I felt my breath becoming more labored. It felt like I was half-way into a three mile run..I get tired around mile 1.5 and my running is slow as crap. The next thing I know I'm waking up to the panic look of the stranger at the beginning of this story. When I finally felt more like myself again, some fifteen minutes or so later, I found spot in the back of the house by the sound board. I had to stand on my tippy-toes but I spent the rest of the night laughing at ridiculous video clips, the violently hilarious action on stage, and the full on physical comedy of Eric Andre and his band of misfits. Also I got back to dancing. Next time I see Eric Andre LIVE I'll have perfected my ability to bob and weave. Also I'll buy a poncho. They're available at the merch table in the back.
