The concert has the distinction of being the biggest rock festival in history - even bigger than Woodstock - with an audience swelling to more than 600,000. As this film clip shows, the logistics of this event were massive. The Band played at the festival with The Allman Brothers Band and The Grateful Dead. This compelling amateur footage shows the long lines of cars, the fans enjoying the music, and the musicians on stage.

2026 Summer Jam Contenders
I wonder what song will be my 2026 summer jam? Like 2024's summer jam was a tie between the gorgeous rendition of the Maltese folk tune “Lanċa Ġejja u Oħra Sejra” performed by Daniel Cauchi and Gjorgji Cincievski, and the Polish bop of a song "Czarownik" by Lady Pank. For 2025's summer jam, it was "Guapparìa" by La Niña.
Listening to Cauchi and Cincievski's take on “Lanċa Ġejja u Oħra Sejra” reminds me of the performance that Il Volo did of "Cielito Lindo" as a tribute to The Three Tenors' performance of that iconic Mexican folk song because of how beautiful it is. Beautiful to the point where it sounds like part of a movie soundtrack.
"Cielito Lindo" by Il Volo, not the new summer jam but it was in the honorable mentions list 2024's summer jam music playlist. I only compared “Lanċa Ġejja u Oħra Sejra” by Daniel Cauchi and Gjorgji Cincievski to "Cielito Lindo" by Il Volo because they are both folk songs from very different parts of the world (Malta and Mexico, respectively) and the beautiful performances of them by the artists in question give off, at least to me, vibes of coming from a soundtrack score to gorgeous, animated musical film.
I mean, with the mysterious and groovy "Czarownik" by Lady Pank, the beautiful Neapolitan chaos incarnate that is the song "Guapparìa" by La Niña, and the flowing and laid-back swim off the shores of Malta that is the song "Lanċa Ġejja u Oħra Sejra” by Daniel Cauchi and Gjorgji Cincievski, there... really isn't much of a song or two I know that outdo all of that!
