when i worked at a food place, i absolutely dreaded every time the phone rang and hoped to god that someone else would pick it up. it never got much easier i hated it

OH MAN i make tons of faces that i don’t intend to because i’m usually thinking about something else/zoning out. i’m sorry for my face. in work settings i usually fall back onto the higher ups for help whenever i get even slightly anxious..

i consciously straight up make faces at people because its my attempt at connecting in a conversation and looking/feeling human. i just need to learn to maintain a resting expression at all times. my social anxiety often manifests in forms of "jumping the gun", abrupt mechanisms such as exaggerating my expression or making an inappropriate expression + responding and speaking too quickly

people irl (and online?) think i’m pretty cold and elusive and don’t care about others because of my social anxiety stuff. it sucks… i feel you. i don’t think you’re unpleasant. interacting with a lot of strangers is draining

im not anxious around my friends though and in a retail position where people ask me questions and where im usually nervous to ask for guidance from higher ups it becomes a cluster fuck, m ostly today the manager mentioned there was an online complaint about a cashier "looking at someone like they were crazy" and i know ive made faces at customers and shut down because im really awkward and float out of my body in the face of confrontation or even a request for assistance , and so i am petrified that it was talking about me...though it literally has no affect on my life now
