Does anyone supposed to go on an Erasmus exchange in September have things to say related to the current situation ?? :(
The most stressful thing about going on Erasmus is that I have to send loads of emails in like 3 different languages
Day 1,2,3
21st August 2016
SSSSSSSSoooo! I still kinda canāt believe everything is happening and itās real!Ā
I landed in Stockholm Arlanda Airport on the 19th at 3PM and met with my tutor, Julia, at the Stockholm Central Station.Ā One of the things that got my attention right away was the silence.Ā Iāve been to a lot of different airports and all of them were crowded with people coming and people leaving and baggages and people having lunch or crying or laughing... But, I mean: a lot of noise.Ā Here, though, people were silent. They were saying their goodbyes or their hellos quietly.Ā Not saying it got me the creeps, but almost.Ā
āKay, so-- moving on.Ā Met Julia, this blonde, blue eyed girl: typical Swedish, I thought. But then we talked and she was super cool and super chill and a lot of fun!Ā
Yesterday I lost the boat.Ā I went to the Museum of Photography, with the exposition of Nick Brandt,Ā āInherit the dustā, which was a group of photograph about Africa but with wild animals photoshopped in; like an Elephant in the middle of a quarry.Ā And then an exposition about the Swedish actress Greta Garbo
(One of my favorite photos Iāve seen yesterday -this is downloaded from Google)
And then the Bryan Adams exposition (I didnāt know he was a photographer, too!) with portraits of famous people.Ā And Iāve fallen in love with this photo of Lindsay Lohan:
I kinda always thought she was beautiful but... I mean, if I could find a poster of this, Iād definitely hang it in my room! (Maybe next to Darth Vader)Ā
Okay, so, I was saying I lost my boat/hostel, because I totally forgot about the cruise they have every weekend.Ā But then the boat came back and everything got back to normal.Ā
And... Today.Ā Today started off good, I was able to sleep (even if the mattresses here in Sweden are as hard as a wooden table! My back hurts still, but whatever)Ā I should have gone to a cruise around Stockholm, but the boat had some kind of trouble with the electricity and so... Here I am, in a Starbucks, updating my blog because I do want this to be up-to-date, kinda stealing their power and their Wi-fi for a milk chocolate cookie that almost got me diabetes and an Americano Coffee that kinda tastes awful. Ew.Ā
Uh. I was almost forgetting: yesterday the weather was fine. Sun was out for like... 3 hours (in the whole day, not continuing). And today it sucks: looking outside I see people with open umbrellas but it doesnāt seem like itās raining.Ā (I did not pack an umbrella in my baggage. That was not one of my clever move).Ā
āKay, think thatās it!Ā James (my MacBook Air) is almost fully charged... Sooooo, Iām finishing up my coffee and then flying to 7eleven to get a swedish sim card!Ā
Bye byeeee!Ā xx, Helen.Ā

24th June 2016
Hello there! My nameās Helen, Iām 20 years old (Iāll turn 21 in only 4 days! š) and I live in the northern part of ~halfway between Milan and Como~.Ā
I study Social Sciences at the University of Milan and soon my second year will come to an end.Ā In February I applied for the Erasmus Program aaaaand Iām going to Sweden in August! (Big YAY for me! Still canāt believe this is happening).Ā
Sssssooo... I had this almost crazy idea of starting this blog back in April when I realized that all the red tape I have to go through is almost impossible to understand. But then I got caught in the exams and called this off until now.Ā
Going back to the main point. I wanted somewhere to keep my memories, my photos, my ideas and thoughts during what I hope will be one of the most wonderful experience in my life.Ā Iām going to spend 5 months in Stockholm, at the Sƶdertƶrn University and itās going to be the longest period of time Iāve spentĀ out of my home (and my country).Ā The first time I went abroad I was 15 and went for three weeks in England (Canterbury) and since then I realized Iām in love with the World (but this is something for another post, maybe).Ā
Okay, I think thatās it for now!Ā
Baci e abbracci, H.Ā
PS: Questions and thoughts you might have on anything I post are always welcome!Ā
Introducing the girl behind the blog
Hi everyone!Ā
I have been following several studyblrs for quite a while on my main blog (bananaholics) and since university is starting again in two weeks I thought why not give it a go myself.Ā I am a 20 year old girl, from the Netherlands. I am in my 3rd year of uni (in Tilburg) and am studying International Business Administration (basically a combination of accounting, finance, maths, statistics, and management). In addition I also follow an honors programĀ āDiscourses on Europeā.Ā On the 21st of september I am officially starting my semester abroad at Exeter University in the UK and I canāt wait! I will be taking business courses there, and I will be doing the exchange courseĀ āReading & Watching Europeā from the honors program from my home uni.Ā
I really like studying and learning, and I have ambitions to go to the Copenhagen Business School for my masters after I graduate. In fact, Iāve actually already started teaching myself Danish!Ā Canāt wait to share some of my tips and tricks with you :) xo JoyceĀ
