Smiling would take up time and mental energy Oboro could put towards moving closer to the warmth they offered, familiar banter in unfamiliar tones that age had worn rough. He stepped in with the straight posture he was struggling to unpick from where it had been stapled down his spine, glancing between them and nodding faintly, fingers curling into the hem of his shirt.
“...I don’t want to be cold,” he said. Ugh. His voice still rasped, underused and twisted out of shape, a tool that had been in other hands far too long to comfortably fit his own. Wetting his lips did nothing to help, a nervous tic to wash the ghost of fog away. “Can I come in?”
Shōta’s back was to him in an instant. “You don’t have to ask that.”

Oboro is recovering from his time in the fog and finally able to move home from hospital. Hizashi and Shōta know his place is with them, finally claiming back the life they should always have had together. For clouderasermic week 2020!
