In the Eye of the Storm (Open, please read tags)
The storm had been developing for hours now..heavy downpour and strong winds ravaging almost every town..kingdom, country or city state in this new..and to him..unknown world. It had started with the sky suddenly darkening in a seemingly unnatural fervency and pace…the thick, bleak clouds forming and eerily looming above these lands. The rainfall began and at first..it just seemed to be a normal thunderstorm, but soon..the increasingly intense winds and the rainfall turning into a real deluge. To many people, the storm seemed to has appeared out of nowhere, as before the sky had been truly clear and the sun was high in the heavens, giving no indication for a weather disturbance like this. Scientists and meteorologists tried to come up with a logical or natural explanation, bringing forth all kinds of theories..while other people like sorcerers or summoners were talking about an imbalance of nature or even the wrath of a god.
Yet, none of the answers were the one they sought. The truth was to be found Inside the eye of the storm..amidst the bleakness and the rain..sunken in deep sorrow and desperation, was a hurt, broken soul. A half-pegasus was seated against a tree..almost lifelessly, his large, dusk-blue wings hanging limp from his back. Night was grasping his head tightly, the screams and noises in his head echoing in his mind..as memories were replayed…the events almost even..relived. All the terror of those events..that had taken away from him everything that he cared about..leaving him to suffer in solitude and grief, a broken soul..hurt and orphaned. Those memories…burning and agonizing, were stuck inside his heart and soul like a blade. His life afterwards..had been bleak, all the light and joy had been drained out of it…a deep darkness had enveloped him, keeping Night in it’s cold grasp.
Even though he was right in the core of the giant hurricane, it seemed like he did not even realize it, as if it was not there..being too sunken inside the pain and grief, which had inadvertently caused the storm to appear. Being half-pegasus, Night had been also born with strong affinity for magic and the same immense abilities, that the race had harbored since ancient times..of some which were the exceptional control over the weather and flight. However, he had inherited exceedingly great amounts of that magic..and it was prone to becoming hard to control when Night was affected by deep distress or negative feelings. Even as a child..the weather often used to respond to his feelings..being clear and pleasant..when he was happy..and becoming dull and dreary..whenever he was sad.
He had not caused the storm deliberately..as he never would consciously wish to harm anyone, that being the last thing, that he would ever want to happen. But the suffering inside of him..the feeling of isolation had taken hold of him…and thus his magic became unbound. His life from that fateful night onward.. had been governed by grief..by the feeling emptiness on inside his soul. But one of the worst and most painful things had been the solitude..that he had been suffering through..and it had become too much for him. The pain of there being nothing anymore..where before there had been care..love and happiness, it was eating away on him gravely, leaving him broken..and feeling left with only cold. He just wished for closeness..for warmth..and love.
