listen i can talk for hours about how much I love Shang’s riding abilities buT. he sits that spook like a champ, his ass never leaves the saddle while his horse basically does a crow-hop (a half-rear up), his arm comes across to protect his face/body from a potential smack to the face from his horse’s neck. He doesn’t pull on his horse’s face AT ALL like some riders would, which would only create more panic in the horse. AND he immediately soothes his horse before he even looks at whatever it was that created the spook like. Not to mention the timing of the soothe also reinforce’s that his horse’s behaviour/reaction of staying calm and standing still after such a SCARY moment for the horse really shows that he knows a lot about horse training. damn. i love this man.
