Can anybody show me examples of a properly adjusted o-ring snaffle? I got a Nu schule bit to try, and didn't have the greatest of rides in it. But before I give up I want to try adjusting it higher, however Im not really sure how high is too high...

Does anybody have any opinions on Wintec vs Bates? Is the leather worth paying extra for? I am reading that the Bates might fit a bit better, but not sure if that is true or not.
Probably the worst place to ask but I'm gonna do it anyway.
I have long legs, and they way the coaches tell me to sit in a two point (half seat?) makes me uncomfortable. I prefer to lean a bit forward, the way they tell me to sit is something I can describe as stiff. I don't know how to really describe it without a video.
Now, the question: is it ok to lean a bit forward if you have long legs?
I don't want this to turn into a shit show, but I really am curious... Is there any way to safely train a 3 year old to be competitive at the big futurities for reining, etc, or will they always end up broken down early in life and with health issues?
This may sound stupid, but I promise it's a real question. What is the advantage of using a crest release over an automatic release? I tend to use an auto naturally, and using a crest release feels forced and I have to actually think about doing it. I know the advantage of an auto release is keeping steady contact and being able to react quickly after the jump. So when would you want to do a crest over an auto? Why is crest taught first? Any show disciplines (i.e. Hunter or eq) where an auto would loose you points? Help me learn!

Alright Tumblr, I need help!
I currently use Woof Wear brushing boots on my mare's hind legs, but in the super sticky indoor arena dirt I am noticing that quite a bit of dirt ends up under the bottom of the boots. They also make her legs sweat if it warmer, which only seems to make the dirt getting into the boots worse. I have to hose her legs off after almost every ride right now, and with the weather getting cooler (hopefully) that is not going to be an option for much longer. Does anybody have any suggestions for a different style of boot that won't make her leg sweat as much, and won't end up with so much dirt under them? The only problem is that our current boots are XL and just barely fit, so we are going to need a brand that offers a fairly large boot.
Does anybody know anything about the Startrekk saddles? I think I may start saving up for one, and would love opinions.
