A few years ago I had a Folk Culture internship where we would interview, document & amplify black culture; and it was one of the most amazing then life and other things got in the way and I began giving all my attention to another category of activism and college. Over the past few months I have been really trying to re-educate myself on the matter and that is when I learned about @justice4saraya , she really is innocent and yes, I have done the research. If she had done some, or all of the acts she is accused of then I wouldn’t be fighting as hard or the same way that I am. Please , go familiarize yourself with her story, what if this was your kid? Or a white kid. If she where white this would have already been a supreme court case, actually, it would’ve never happened. And yesterday afternoon, I finally started reading The Hate You Give. I’m not sure how else I can help fight for equality and justice other than what I am already doing. Please remember, even when it isn’t trendy that we are all equal. And that P.O.C & LGBTQIA+ lives mater! #lgbtqialivesmatter #blacklivesmatter #justiceforsaraya #equaltyforall #learning #educateyourself https://www.instagram.com/p/CLuiVI5DZEi/?igshid=1rzyi0ib78uub
