Fedosia yawned, leaning against the wall carelessly. The twins were chattering away, oblivious to her presence. They usually were, until she let them know she was hanging around. Well, this âmissionâ of theirs had gotten her interest a bit. ShiâAra had continued to not feel ready to use the terran force for anything, and she was getting bored out of her skull. There was only so much that teleporting bread could do to distract her.
âSo, whatâs gotten you boys all riled up?â She flipped up her visor and gave them a lopsided smile as they jumped. âDid the breadling bite someone important on the ass, or..?â
Misopatris, it had to be him because of the well-kept hands, gallantly leapt to the defense of his pet. âFlower is extremely well-behaved, and would never do such a thing!â
âNo, of course not. Shi would have killed it if it did that again.â That sarcastic drawl had to be Epistrontis.
Fedosia let the two boys tussle a bit before asking again. âSo, whatâs gotten you so excited?â
Epistrontis looked up from pulling Misopatrisâ nerve cords. âNothing special, really. Shiâs just having us trim some dead weight. Thereâs been some new recruits, so weâre just getting some useless members out of the way.â
âI donât see why we have to do this, instead of letting the recruits do it themselves, but Shi insisted that someone who doesnât look Nerazim do it. For the greater good, and all that.â Misopatris punched Epistrontis in the face. âAlso probably because theyâre one of the ones weâve got on Aiur.â
A hit, then. Lovely. But she was bored, and there were plenty of Fist members who probably did deserve a bullet to the head. ShiâAra had collected herself quite the merry band of psychopaths, and frankly, most of the other splinters were worse. But ShiâAra had also managed to get her claws on more than a few people like Kaaâvaxi too. Hopefully these were the former, not the latter.
âIf itâs so she doesnât get caught, mind if I tag along? The more the merrier and all. And that means you can have one all to yourselves, right?â Fedosia shrugged. âIâm really damn bored. Thereâs only so much bread teleporting a girl can do, you know?â
The twins paused their fight to consider her proposal. Not that she could hear it, of course. Psionic conversation and all that. But eventually they helped each other up, ready to make their decision.
âYeah, why not.â That was Misopatris. âYouâll get the old one. He probably wouldnât be too much of a fight anyways.â
âWorks for me.â Fedosia nodded. âJust tell me when I can get off this ship and do something.â
