#epilepsy?

i had to wake up quite early this morning to meet with my new neurologist. i’ve been experiencing pretty intense brain fog recently and i’ve had a few absence seizures- the most recent one causing me to lose control of my bladder. it’s frustrating because i’ve fought so long for what little independence i do have, & now when it feels like i’m finally starting to get the ball rolling with my mental health, my physical health takes a dive. marjorie (my therapist) says it’s very possible the two are related- maybe i should do some shadow work on that.

anyways, the appointment went well! i had a bit of a difficult time getting in there - first i went into the wrong building, then when i asked someone sitting in a side office for directions they gave me a paragraph and i got very confused, so i walked down to the wrong building, was informed, then given proper directions to where i was supposed to go. it was a lot for my hips 🥲 - but i did encounter this wonderful desire path on my detour, and after getting checked in and met with the nurse i’d calmed down a bit.

bp was high (thanks anxiety) and after describing my episodes and symptoms, the doc wanted to start me on a low dose anti-seizure med, but it ended up being one that reacts badly with my current meds list so we decided to just move forward with some MRI and CT scans first then go from there after results are in. he says what i’m experiencing definitely sounds like a seizure, but my history is a bit atypical so he’d like to do scans to see if they’re epileptic or not. i was informed one can have a seizure disorder without being epileptic, which i never knew!

I found a decent-sized lump on the back/right side of my head today. It’s hard, painful, under the skin, and I’m positive I didn’t hit anything.
