EPS 1-2 commentary

* Oooo my god it’s been ages since this male lead played a character that’s allowed to smile. I almost didn’t recognize him.

* This female lead is a good choice as a believable fighter.

* The Kings mistress or whatever is sexy. I love a villainess who will prepare an entire canopy bed to lounge on while her henchman prepare her blood pool.

* A shadow puppet… that’s a nice use of dark magic, let’s be real. Hello ultimate warrior.

* Look at middle aged magic henchman kicking this prince’s butt?

* Snaps to all the props people who created the scene where the prince’s clothes literally fly off his body in different directions before he falls into the blood pool. Good work, team.

* K-Pop Demon Hunters anyone? Love those electric markings on his body.

* He reverted to a child?!!! Can I be a blood puppet too?!!! I want a do over.

* Omg I love the dual boy/man visual.

* Smacking trees down with his bare hands is awesome.

* I love the wide eyed lil brother character already

* Now that’s a transformation scene, ladies and gentlemen! This is the only kind of super hero story that interests me right now.

* Sexy sexy sexy sexy

Each episode is like 5 minutes long and my god it’s the cutest shit I’ve ever seen in my life WE ARE STARTING OFF WITH GUSU EXAMS WHAT ON EARTH AND HUAISANG AND WEI WUXIAN GOT PUNISHED FOR CHEATING and WWX’s crow hates him but loves LWJ I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS SHITE

Wow they’re still trying to cheat and LWJ is pissed off af OMGGGGGG HUAISANG totally failed his test!!!

The opener is so funny this entire damn drama is basically WWX drawing sketches of LWJ, or LWJ and himself, and LWJ either going mad or embarrassed ISTG

OMG EP 2 is EVEN FUNNIER FARKKKK THERE IS A DOG PEEING AND WWX BUMPS INTO HIM OMGGGG LWJ PUNISHES WWX WITH A CANE?!!! Aigooooooooooo I cannot I really cannot it’s so darn cute

Omgggggg HOW DO U MAKE CHIBIS PINE?!! HOW IS IT THAT CHIBI LWJ IS PINING?!!! HOW?!!!

WOAH. I just started Hit The Spot because I LOVE Hani and let me just say ummmm WOAH?! 

I love how Hani chooses women led dramas (XX, Idol: The Coup) and this one FOR SURE. I just love her so much! The drama is super graphic for a k-drama though so if you don’t want to see sex scenes, I recommend skipping it.

But the sex scenes are so soft c*re p*rny and a bit fake so I think they are pretty funny and there are A LOT of them. Mostly I just giggle like I’m a 5th grader. Also, the show is VERY VERY straight which I mean obviously, so they don’t really do much for me? I like boys but I don’t care about those kinds of scenes personally (I guess I’m weird). #biproblems

However, I’m loving that this show is literally a PDA telling women to take care of their needs and go and buy vibrat*rs and have fun which of course, YES DO THAT!! Her friend is so amazing too! 

Ok obviously I’m just babbling and can’t really put my finger on if I like this drama? I mean I think I DO! I think it’s  empowering for women and hopefully if people really aren’t comfortable with this stuff they learn that it’s ok and also great! But also I wish it was less male/female focused. 

A.K.A: No Teacher/Student Romance

Last week I got an ask about whether or not there was inappropriate romance between the teach and the student and I’m happy to say there is not. I didn’t actually think there would be (this is a k-drama) but there isn’t even a tiny speck, not even a meaningful gaze that could be construed as romantic. In fact, one time a romantic OST was playing while they were solving math problems and all I could do was laugh cause like, that was SO not the mood??

This is one of those evil corrupt rich people destroying lives for the academic rankings of their students k-dramas so far. And the teacher/student relationship is actually very lovely and appropriate. There is a romance but it’s clearly with math. Like, they are head over heals for math people.

I did see some screen grabs that looked a little suspect for the next episode (like, just don’t share headphones with your male student alone at night LMAO) but I’m pretty confident that Ji Yoon Soo, the adult is feeling very platonic about Baek Seung Yoo, and I don’t think that’s going to change (at least until the time jump). Maybe he’ll be into her I mean she is a gift but that’s pretty normal as long as she keeps boundaries.
