Who is forge in a relationship with? Is it shadow?
Yep!
Really, only people who know Forge personally are aware of this, and the rest of Hyrule sees Shadow as a rehabilitated terrorist living under the hero’s watch, more or less. If Zelda hadn’t publicized Shadow’s heroic and self-sacrificial actions before they even tried bringing him back, there would be more problems to deal with.

The Four Sword is Forge’s pride and joy and also his greatest source of problems. Hopping through a mysterious portal to who-knows-where? No problem! Picking up the Four Sword again? Ehh…… At least he knows how to avoid triggering its sealing abilities this time.
When he says it calls to him, it’s more of a gut feeling that it’s needed for the road ahead. It’s not actually doing anything to summon him to the sanctuary.

Nope! It’ll get explained in the main comic eventually so I’m holding off for now. Just know that MC and FS Zelda is not FSA Zelda.

… yeah. Yeah the colors are magnetic in FSA. They have magnet gloves and everything. Forge is, uh, not quite suited for Farmer’s era’s goron mines.

It was actually Forge who was more reluctant to bring back Shadow, but Zelda (and his grandfather) did talk him into it. Before FSA, he’d never been so completely helpless and incapable of doing his job as hero. After, well, there was a recovery period, to learn how to be himself again after spending so long being split at the seams. This here is probably his lowest point.
That being said, when Shadow found out about the coward comment, he thought it was hilarious.
