What's your favorite character you've encountered (either yours or an NPC)?
i'm gonna answer this from a roleplaying-specific perspective, because choosing my favorite character EVER is too hard, lmao. my favorite characters to roleplay tend to be...happy? to put it simply. don't get me wrong, i loooove angst, and i love my edgy angsty disaster pcs and npcs as much as the next guy. but roleplaying characters who look on the bright side is so refreshing and revitalizing for me.
brontide, envys and dagon fall into that group. envys and dagon are npcs who are very different from each other (envys just goes with the flow, man, and vibes; dagon is aggressively joyful and positive) but who both kind of tick the "hey, maybe the world isn't so bad after all" box in my brain. brontide is a pc and he's just. a fucking joy!! he's happy, you know? that's the main thing about him. he's also selfish and complicated and he lies, he's been through shit and it affects him, but at the end of the day he's having a great time and is endlessly optimistic about his life. these are traits i DO NOT have, lmao. as a relentless pessimist, it's just really nice to roleplay people who. aren't like that at all.
AMA - dnd edition!
my first act as a chill wet cleric was to cast spare the dying on an enemy orc so game’s going well
last session, an npc asked my chill, wet cleric where they’re from and i said “Ocean.” just now, the party’s sorcerer asked what ocean i’m from and i just said “...do oceans have names?” i love my damp child
for my first ever dnd character as a player, i am going to play someone who is the exact opposite of myself: 1) religious, 2) chill, and 3) believes in neutrality.

me as a dm: this a campaign where the gods are missing but used to walk among you and the gods are extremely real and religion is a huge plot point
me as a player: okay fine i’ll be a cleric but i’m gonna worship storms and that’s it
can i be honest with you? i don't really...understand doors. sometimes they open, sometimes they don't, sometimes they open by themselves. sometimes you're supposed to hit them first and people get really mad if you don't. there's this whole social expectation around doors that i don't really understand? and i've had bad experiences. would you mind handling this door? thanks.
my chill, wet cleric, who grew up in the ocean, to the sorcerer, who grew up in the woods and also doesn’t understand the social expectation re: doors
