BLM Arizona specialists prepare students for 2018 Envirothon
Imagine a group of teens passing up the usual after school diversions like sporting events, pizza and a movie, or taking a drive with friends, to gather instead in a conference room, to learn the practical application of field sciences.
This April, a group of high school students met with rangeland management specialists from the Bureau of Land Management Arizona Strip District to prepare for the toughest challenge of the statewide Envirothon competition — resolving complex, rangeland management issues.
I just learned that
if a ruffed grouse has black feathers displayed on it’s lower neck that it is dtf and idk what to do with this info

So I was at the New York Envirothon this thursday, and it was wet. And since the competition is about the Environment, day #2 is all outside. Meaning, three stations in, everyone is soaked, I can't feel my toes and you'd better huddle over that scantron because if it gets water on it and disintegrates you're NOT GETTING ANOTHER ONE. So finally, two hours of being cold and aging deer teeth later, we get back to the dorms where we're staying and are instructed to change. I only brought two pairs of pants. So I change into my pyjama pants, these thick fleecy things that are plaid and do not match the Official Envirothon Shirt. But it's flipping cold and I figure we did kind of sucky and we're probably not going to win anything, so if I sit in the back of the auditorium I'll be fine. But nooooooo, my team just had to rock the Oral Presentation and win 4th. So now the Official Envirothon List Of Winners includes my teammates positioned in such a way as to attempt to shield the offending plaid pyjama pants.
our team one regional envirothon again!! i’m so happy!!
