we need to give more credit to interpretive forms of art, and i dont mean in Performing Arts.
the creativity that goes into
translating data into ideas people can understand teaching journalism textbook artists nonfiction writers statistics marketing interpretive park rangers salespeople
im both a scientist and an artist, and i can see the art in all of these
sometimes i beat myself up because none of my art is "my own". i'm making music videos from assets made by other people. I make collages, all of which is just different levels of "collecting". i only draw from photo reference.
we give a huge amount of credit to artists who have novel , unique ideas and flawless fine art execution
but creativity isnt exclusive to those people.
interpretive creativity is just as badass. some of us are convergent thinkers, some of us are divergent thinkers. there really is art in the sciences.
