Well, it seemed like Drift was in good spirits. That at least was good to hear; he worried sometimes, even with so much of what the crew had been through already behind them, that he may sometimes still feel out of sorts. Today, though... today that didn’t appear to be the case.

Drift is someone he would absolutely have a blast with. He'd be comfortable experimenting, trying new things. I mean, what are best friends for if not a fun fuck every now and then?

It’s near the end of his shift, and he’s really just ready to go home. So Drift wandering in to lean over the desk and give him a kiss on the cheek certainly is a nice change of pace after what was an extremely long day.

Reaching up to gently catch one of his audial flares, he carefully turns the speedster’s head for a proper kiss.

"I don't know how I got so lucky.

I'm being serious, too- maybe we don't always see eye to eye in our beliefs, but when I first met him back in Rodion, I said I saw something special in him and I did.

He's so damn hard on himself, though. And I know why that is- we came out of a four million year war that he spent the majority of wearing a different badge. Absolution can be hard to find when the whole thing ends with a whimper, leaving us wondering how to adapt.

But he doesn't need it. I don't care about his past or what's happened at this point. If I'm going to be lucky enough to have someone as sharp and clever as him decide he loves me, I'm going to love him back just as hard. I know Rodimus thinks the world of him too- and more than a few folks changed their tune the longer they've been around him.
