Ghetsis is named more or less after musical dissonance (the tritone) and I want to know why.
Sure there’s the standard ‘it fits the theme of B&W and pretty much spells out that this guy is ‘far removed’ from what we’re used to seeing in Pokemon games and is pretty much high-bar evil but I want MORE.
Why the musical name (the ONLY character with a musical name until B2W2 came out and gave us Rosa/Nate)?
Why the specific notes ‘G’ and ‘C#’ in particular?
Also, why the royalty theme (the US has never been a monarchy so unless they, the dev team, took NY’s moniker ‘the Empire State’ literally...) when no other team had one before (or after)?
I just want all the backstory, please Nintendo.
(I think there’s a greater story not being told in comparison to the one we got.)

The fun thing about teaching middle school band over zoom is that it's much harder to explain enharmonics and what a half step vs a whole step is
I wrote out an email to an 8th grader that was at least 2 pages (clearly written explanations broken up into sections with pictures) and I probs could've handed it in to a professor of one of my music ed classes in college and gotten an A
The student hasn't gotten back to me to lmk if some, if any of my explanation made sense...
