Amy looked around at their new surroundings. It had been a while since the young girl had time traveled. And it was always in the Tardis before. But, when her dad had said they had to go to America for a little while, for “Torchwood business”, Amy couldn’t object. And so, the duo went there, traveling by the assist of her dad’s vortex manipulator. It was very different from the Tardis.

Amy was still young at this point, it was within a year of her mum dyeing. Her dad had already put her back in school, which she didn’t want to do, and now they were taking a promptue trip to America. At least school was over now for the year, so the young girl didn’t have to worry about that.

Jack dropped Amy off at a local park, close to where he’d told the girl he’d be working. “The trip shouldn’t take too long,” he’d said, “A couple of weeks at the most. Might as well get to know the people around while we’re here.” The immortal had suggested. “Make some friends to play with.”

Amy didn’t want to make friends. Amy didn’t want to be in America. But, there she was, sitting on the park’s bench, a groan on her face as she just watched the other children play.
