Okay so after rewatching several Cars clips, I think I can decode some of the Cars' engine signals:
. Big loud rumbling engine- Battle/confrontation/fight mode
. High pitch engine revving twice - Cars version of a wolf whistle
. Low soft engine revving - Feeling romantical/aroused/attracted to a car ( Finn's low soft engine revving when he first saw Valerie is a dead giveaway to him falling in love with her at first sight! )
. Low to high pitched revving - Getting increasingly annoyed
. Honking high pitched in staccato - Happy and cheering ( like an applause )
. Honking in longer pitched and lower - Impatience, think like stuck in a traffic jam
