Oakley: Good Samaritan Secretly Pays Firefighters Grocery Bill
Yesterday at approximately 2:45pm the Engine 93 crew was shopping at Raley’s in Oakley. While in line to pay for our groceries we received a call for medical aid in another part of Oakley. We promptly left our groceries behind, asking the clerk if they could save our cart and that we would return after the call.

At 8:21 am Sunday, Oakley Police and East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a three vehicle accident on Gamay Drive off of Empire Ave. The incident resulted in minor injuries and heavy damage to one vehicle and dents to two trucks. Airbags also deployed to the smaller vehicle. Engine 93 was on scene as a precaution but were quickly released from the scene.
According to Oakley Police, one of the vehicles involved was on a “test drive” to be purchased.
This was the second accident of the morning for crews also responded to a vehicle accident on Cinnamon Ridge Dr. where a vehicle was traveling at a speed greater than the posted speed limit and crashed into a parked truck.

Patient in Critical Condition After Highway 4 Vehicle Rollover Accident
At 9:53 am, East Contra Costa Fire Protection responded to a vehicle rollover accident on Highway 4 near Laurel road that left one patient in critical condition.
