Fire Guts Santa Clara Apartment by smokeshowing Via Flickr: On Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 6:13 PM, units of the City of Santa Clara Fire Department responded to multiple reports of flames and smoke seen from a second story apartment unit at 856 Monroe Street. Arriving units found at least one apartment in the two-story building well-involved with fire beginning to extend to adjacent units. Firefighters conducted a primary and secondary search to confirm that all of the apartments were vacated and began their fire attack. While roof crews opened up for vertical ventilation firefighters working the interior of the apartment units were able to quickly contain the blaze and limit damage to the structure. emergencyphoto.zenfolio.com/monroe

Fire Consumes Santa Clara Home's Garage by smokeshowing Via Flickr: On June 18, 2006, just before 5:00 PM, units of the City of Santa Clara Fire Department responded to reports of fire in a single-story, single-family dwelling at 1376 Alpine Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find a heavily involved garage and contents fire threatening to extend into the living area of the attached home. As lines were stretched and put into operation firefighters initiated vertical ventilation and worked aggressively to stop the flames from spreading. Much of the home was saved while the garage and an adjacent storage building were destroyed. San José Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire by smokeshowing Via Flickr: On Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at approximately 10:10 AM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to a report of fire in a mobile home at 1373 Sunbeam Circle adjacent to Highway 101 and Story Road. Arriving firefighters were confronted with a heavily involved structure that would eventually burn nearly end-to-end. While extinguishing the fire was the primary goal for crews working this incident, they were also forced to contend with protecting adjacent mobile homes that were extremely close to the involved unit. While crews worked effectively to contain the blaze they were forced to withdraw from the mobile home and press a defensive attack due to rapidly deteriorating conditions on the interior. Unfortunately the home was a complete loss. All occupants of the mobile home were able to escape without injury and were later assisted by the Red Cross.
