so i’m taking this off the current apx 2030 verse. and for apocalypse type i’m gonna go with the old fashioned zombie type.

okay so, zombie outbreak. eating brains everywhere and whatnot. and for two seconds will isn’t concerned because AREN’T ZOMBIES LIKE VAMPIRES? and you just know landon fucking facepalms because have i taught you nothing will???

top important people to will are lizzie, dallan and landon. secondary would be josie, hope, nicole, alaric, and caroline. and on a real note, alaric and caroline would be less so. more for lizzie’s sake then anything else he’d try and protect them ( she deserves to have her parents and be with them, even in a zombie soaked apocalyptic world ). 

i figure this is set pre-wedding, so the initial plan for a big wedding is out the window and they settle for what they could do. and yes, in this hellscape will’s second priority after keeping his loved ones alive is marrying lizzie. because if he dies he wants to die as her husband, and bound to her forever. ( well, she’d always have his heart but it was nice to share a name, right? )

okay now onto the survivalness. let’s be real, they are all very capable beings. each one of them has power in their own right. at worst-case scenario, will or dallan could transport to get them some food from wherever. not to say that they’d be living cozy, but it wouldn’t be as hard as it could be. 

the first time they lose someone to the outbreak, it’d be tough for will. i imagine in their forced seclusion he’d have grown closer to anyone near just by proximity. and the thing is with him, when you become close will has the innate desire to protect. and failing that?? it’d fuck him up. 

there are worlds where he would be able to salvage if he lost lizzie saltzman, this is not one of them. if he lost lizzie will would absolutely lose any grip of reality he had. she is his heart and his rock. his foundation. in a world where they have so little, he would rely on her even more so. 

 landon would probs be the person he worries about least. landon will always be there, phoenix and all. so will would remain unconcerned until one day landon just vanished. how he vanished? he could have left, too hard being near hope. or maybe he just went for a walk and got lost. either way, loosing landon would be tough.

then there was dallan. invincible and amazing dallan. his fucking family. i think dallan would be pretty miserable in this shitty apocalypse. all of them would, but seeing him in such a way would be something to devastate will. 

in the end, i think will would either survive alongside lizzie and make what he could of a life with her. alternatively, they would die in close capacities. all or nothing in this one. 

        he’s  done  a  little  decorating  up  at  the  motel  but  it  seems  pointless.  he  hasn’t  seen  the  manager  in  weeks  and  as  far  as  he  knows,  the  guest  count  is  just  him.  he’s  tried  to  make  new  reservations  but  the  tool’s  been  acting  up  and  people  have  started  staying  elsewhere.  he  gets  it.  if  he  showed  up  at  a  shady  looking  motel  and  saw  a  kid  working  the  front  desk  with  no  other  employees  in  sight,  he’d  be  weirded  out  too.   it’s  why  he’s  helping  decorate  at  the  salvatore  school  instead,  figuring  it’s  a  better  use  of  his  time  and  efforts. 

        “  isn’t  there  like  …  a  spell  that  could  do  this  for  us.  ”   he’s  carrying  a  box  filled  with  halloween  supplies,  coughing  as  some  of  the  dust  irritates  his  nose.   “  anti-dust  spell,  or  something.  ”    the  look  he  gets  from  josie  is  equal  parts  amused  and  irritated  –   probably  because  he’s  asked  the  same  question  three  times.   

        “  yes.  ”    she  explains  slowly,  with  more  patience  than  he’s  probably  earned.     “  …  but  my  mom  thinks  stuff  like  this  –  it’s  better  to  do  without  magic.  without   our  abilities.   something  about  it  being  focusing,  or  calming  …  i  guess.  ”   her  smile  is  a  little  sad.   “  she  probably  thinks  i  need  it.  ”    she  shrugs.   “  …  and  she’s  probably  right.  ”    he  isn’t  sure  what  to  say  about  that  so  he  just  smiles  awkwardly,  puts  the  box  down  and  rips  the  packing  tape  off.    “  i  guess  this  isn’t  too  bad.  ”   he  says  after  a  minute,  another  coughing  fit  delaying  the  opening  of  the  box.   “  these  cobwebs  look  really  realist  —-  nope,  nope,  they’re  real  …  abort,  abort,  abort.  ”    he  skitters  back  from  the  boxes  like  he’s  been  burned,  shaking  his  hands  as  if  phantom  spider  webs  are  still  clinging  to  his  fingers.   “  yuck.  ”
