so i have been working on a thing and have finally worked up the courage to show it off! introducing:
Energytale is an AU based around the idea of soul magic (with some added world building ✨spice✨ because I couldnt help myself)
Besides the soul magic, the one other really important world building thing my AU has is how skeleton and ghost 'monsters' come to be. See, in this universe both types of monsters used to be human and ended up as either a skeleton or ghost due to how they died. If they died to monster magic, then they turn into a skeleton; if they died around monsters but not to them, then they turn into a ghost. Neither type can turn into the other.
"What does this mean for the preexisting ghosts and skeletons in Undertale?" I definitely hear you asking and did not say just to segway into talking about it.
Sans and Papyrus, in this AU, are some of the fallen children (specifically, Sans is the Justice kid/Clover and Papyrus is the Kindness kid/Cameron). For the ghosts (MTT, Mew Mew, and Napstablook specifically), they all were humans that were perceived by others to have not agreed with the war on monsters in some way, and the humans in the war killed them. All of the fallen humans (besides Chara and Frisk for obvious reasons) had turned into skeletons upon death in this AU, adding 3 new characters, being Roman (the bravery kid/Alex), Ariel (the patience kid/Myssa), and Amatic (the perseverance kid/Vanessa).
I'll do a masterlist once I've done seperate posts for each important character, which I intend to do daily but will probably forget lmao.
