Energy Work Post: Beginner's guide to visualization techniques without the visualization
Confusing title? Yes. But let me explain while you scroll. I have the pleasure of sometimes getting to teach the basics of energy work to friends and clients. It's a field that I have been working with for most of my life and I feel really passionate about finding unconventional ways to teach the basics to accommodate students outside of convention. I'm sure many can find some quality posts and information on standard visualization techniques, so the following introduces a less standard technique that may be helpful for people that don't have the best visualization skills. To that end, I suggest one tries the common visualization techniques through feeling.
Sight isn't the only way people sense and interact with energy and energy bodies. I for one am more touch sensitive. When I'm teaching someone that can't get a hang of visualizing for whatever reason, I tell them to instead Feel the object they are trying to make.
Having trouble mentally maintaining the idea of seeing a ball in your hand? Try folding and shaping energy to make it feel like there is a ball in your hand. Some may argue that this is a more advanced technique, to which I say, yeah. For some people, the idea of controlling energy through feeling alone will be advanced. Someone else will find it more manigable then sustained visualization.
This method will be strange at first, and realise heavily on one being intune with the sensation in their body. It will help to practice having 'phantom limbs', the feeling of moving and arm or leg while standing still. Instead of a limb, it's the energy in your body or environment.
