Aaron Hardbarger - Taking The Hobbits to Isengard

Okay now that the losers stopped reading: yes the movie was dogshit, but as a writer I could literally see the layers of a better script within the damn thing. Like, I noticed where scenes were supposed to be longer, where emotional impact was supposed to land, and even where action set pieces were just kneecapped. This movie is the greatest butchering of a decent concept I've seen in a while and it's fascinating. Like, Steve literally has a line at the end where he says "to create is harder to destroy and that's why cowards tend to choose the [latter]" (JB makes the last word into a traditional JB nonsense word that I can't describe) and I was like "oh that was the thesis statement. That was the line the writers wanted to build this concept around and you can see it in different shades throughout, but it's all bogged down by ad-libbing, stunted arcs, and chopped-for-time exposition." Like damn I want to read those first couple scripts tbh because honestly there's something good there. There really is. But it got wrecked.
