We stopped at Chicana Vegana for dinner and Hawt Dawg was it delicious. What a luxury to be in a place where there are so many restaurants that actually have the word VEGAN in their title. Soooooo many pictures. So many stories. Yesterday we went to Hollister. When we'd tell them that I was a Hollister they were genuinely excited and interested. We got a warm and friendly town history from a store owner. It was sweet. We also visited Pinnacle State Park and then the National Steinbeck Center. When we made it to the Jellyfish area I could barely stop shaking my head in disbelief. How are they real? What. A. Day. Jeanette's little niece Tinsley (in the front with me in the first pic) has been cracking all of us this whole trip. It's the sweetest and I'm living for all of it. I need to get down some of her "Tinsleyisms" before they slip away. The first was when we told her we were getting close to California and she wanted to know if that was still in America. Then after we crossed into Cali and informed her we were still in the United States she said emphatically "I didn't ask if we were in the United States I asked if we were still in America!" We went over our first bridge and when I told her she asked so sweetly "Are we under water?" While on the beach seeing the birds fly in single file overhead she said that they were "Flying Seagull File." We started out the day at Fort Ord Dunes State Park and ended up singing Happy Birthday to lovely Jeanette that made this entire vacation possible for everyone. We are all so lucky to laugh with her, celebrate with her, giggle at baking shows and watch sunsets off balconies with her.
