undervalued character trait of lucas' is his pragmatism, fr. he doesn't worry about the demogorgon until mike puts it on the map, he tells mike that will just went to class early, bc that's the most likely explanation. and then when it comes out will really did go missing, he assumes the worst because that's what's most probable. he's such a realist and it's at times heartbreaking because it'll make him seem optimistic and pessimistic depending on the circumstances and both can turn out equally as sad.

do you guys think after discovering el's power in s1, lucas went home all grumpy bc he doesn't trust her and he misses will so he gets spiteful and is all like 'superpowers. pffff! whatever.' and then he sits on his bed and tries to shut the door with his mind?

got to the motel scene again with nancy "i waited" and jonathan "yeah, like a month" and djhdifudhsid i unironically love that moment because it's so STUPID. bc like... they really are just teenagers. for all the maturity and openness that makes their eventual relationship so beautiful to me, they'll occasionally say stuff like that where it's just Oh, at the end of the day you really are 16.
