one of my biggest world based hcs i use on all my kh blogs is how keyblade wielders connect with their keyblade and how said blade has its own personality and quirks , playing off its master and trying to make up for their weaknesses ─── here’s a small peek into some of void gear’s traits :
created non―traditionally just like vanitas , void gear starts off without a ‘ voice ’ of its own . as vanitas grows both mentally and physically so does void , but even as it attains proper consciousness it keeps quiet the majority of the time ; this is because vanitas’ mind is always running rampant already , constantly swarmed by his own feelings , void feels the most helpful thing to do for its master is be a silent comfort .
during bbs onward void’s only communication to vanitas will be short bursts of encouragement or partnership when he needs it . keep going . i’m with you . we’ll win .
void acquires a louder ‘ voice ’ after kh3 when or IF vanitas ever starts to learn more positive emotions , allowing his inner turmoil to subside slightly .
though vanitas’ endurance is already extremely high void helps push him past his limits in dire situations , attempting to aid by giving off a feeling to numb his pain / urging him onward when his own strength wavers / trying to pull him back and assure him that there’s no cowardice in retreat to recover .
very docile and obedient to vanitas’ wishes , similar to the unversed .
vanitas’ teeth are all large and sharp with the fangs at the corners of his mouth being the biggest / the tips of his fingers naturally spike into claws / the tips of his ears are ever so slightly pointed .
when first created vanitas lacked the vast , vast majority of what he once knew as ventus ; for the first couple months to a year of his creation vanitas had more of a childlike mentality rather than presently , where he holds the mentality of a late teenager or young adult . this caused a lot of irrational thought processes , misunderstandings , impulse decisions , etc in early months .
because of the excessive abusive treatment during this time he’s ended up with a lot of varying trauma and tends to seem like a lost , injured child if ever opening up entirely to someone who’s somehow managed to gain his full trust , even going so far as to impulsively flinch or tense at sudden movements as he does not trust easily and dislikes being touched .
