Last thing I will say about "WHO WANTS TO BE THE EMPEROR?" (thank you all for listening) is that, looking through old drafts, I think it's really funny that I was determined to keep this exchange in. Like it isn't fantastic or anything, but I was trying to keep it right up until the end:
LENORA: "What about you, hmmm? Let’s say you were emperor for a minute. What would you do?" YOU: "If I were emperor... " YOU: "I'd pay the mansum of every servant in Rheme." LENORA: "Ah, but isn't it funny? You can pay it, but it doesn't mean they'll go free. Not even the emperor can whittle a person from a piece of furniture."

I mentioned this on Bluesky, but I'll give additional info here that I was thinking about "WHO WANTS TO BE THE EMPEROR?" again because I checked on itch.io for the first time in a while and was amazed that people were still clicking on it. I still wish that I hadn't been restricted by the 1k word limit (there was so much more I wanted to do with the pacing/conversation that I just couldn't, and even though I revised things after the jam was over I wanted to stay true to the original restrictions), but I'm still really proud of what I put out in 2-3 weeks. Thank you to everyone who has read it over the years; maybe someday, it would be neat to revisit these two!

since it has been a week since I officially released it, I thought I would throw together a massive doodle dump from the past few months for stuff from "WHO WANTS TO BE THE EMPEROR?" ...featuring heavily two characters who make zero appearance in that incredibly short story. say hello to todd(icus) and unnamed visiting dignitary who is dressed in vague ahistorical robe (a.k.a. i had yet to do research on what she should wear)
