I saw that you're knowledgeable about the history of soda and I was just wondering if you had any fun trivia about Surge.
not really, since it was discontinued in 2003, but i do have a funny story
when surge was still popular my (pregnant w/ me) mom would get a craving of "suicide soda" (which is just a mix of a bunch of sodas at the machine, like pepsi coke and fanta in different intervals) that HAD to have surge. so it being like the early year of 2000 she would go to p much any mcdonalds, get out her gallon water bottle, fill it halfway with surge and the rest with whatever she wanted. she would then chug it. apparently that was not enough to satisfy fetus-me, and the mcdonalds employees weren't paid enough to get between my pregnant mom and her soda, so they didn't care that my mom did this multiple times.
after i was born she was so sick of soda we didn't have it in the house for six years, which is when i was finally old enough to try soda. and i hated it. so for the rest of my life up until this point i have never had tasted soda or ANY carbonated drink outside of the occasional sip from whatever or wherever.
when i told my mom that amazon was selling a defunct soda brand called "surge" circa like 2018 or so she told me this story and why she can never stand anything other then diet dr pepper. my blood was filled with surge.
