In early summer my dear friends (and design collaborators) Beth Johnson and Emma-Louise Payne had the reception of their bar design. The bar was part of an outdoor summer pavilion, designed in collaboration with KLINK and KADK Superformlab.
The key themes of the pavilion; water&light, celebrate the importance of Danish summer light and embraces the reflections from the near-by canal. A successful and functional summer pavillion used for summer lunches and weekend picnics.
The concept of the bar focuses on the repetition and rotation of a bespoke single form to create a dynamic surface. Two types of tiles (convex and concave), hand-made by the designers are used to create the geometric pattern which reflects and plays with light, creating a hazey and dazzling effect. Beautiful work girls!
