Sparkling Wine || Marlene & Emmaline
Marlene was the first to make it to the tower, so she was waiting patiently for Emmaline to arrive. She’d brought her own blanket and a couple of pillows, wanting them to be comfortable. She had two small glasses already filled with the sparkling wine, and a small jar with an enchanted fire inside that was casting a warm net around the small corner she had set up in. The coldness of the air had people warm in their beds if they weren’t alone tonight, which meant the girls should have all the privacy they would want or need for an evening together.
As break was nearing closer, they were set to leave in two days, Marlene was growing anxious. She was worried about her parents and Emma not getting along. She was worried about getting caught. She was worried that something would go wrong and this would all get messed up. She gulped some of her wine down, warmth spreading through her veins. She was tired of worrying. She just wanted to be happy. She was too young to be this stressed out. She’d have the rest of her life for that.
She tapped her foot and waited for Emma to arrive, excited to see her again, as always.

Marlene felt like her entire body was twisted into knots. Her eyes were red from the tears she'd been crying when Emmaline had owled her with the meeting spot. She was seating on a desk, trying to get her breathing in order, honestly unsure of what to do.

Tears started welling in the corners of her eyes again, and she wiped at them, refusing to be in a state when Emmaline showed up. She had to be strong.
