2020 Emma who? The 2009 BBC Mini-Series will always be infinitely superior to every other existing adaptation thus far.

#in acting alone #but also the music and dialogue and cinematography #emma #emma 2020 #emma2009 #like i hate how americanized the new Emma is #the ridiculous humor and overacting #and its a british production #how did they manage #to make it so childish and flat #also the actor playing knightly has chapped lips and that is all i could look at the entire time #while 2009 emma is sophisticated and rivals p&p 2005 #also they seem too close in age #emma and knightly #and have so little chemistry #they tried to replicate the hand emphasis #but it just xame across as staged and too on the nose #lacked any kind of subtlety #nowhere near the sophistication of camera movement used in p&p 2005 #the only good casting was mr woodhouse #and even then i still think it was overdone #frank chirchill was nowhere near as charming as he needed to be #and neither was emma #she looked more mean when in fact she should be in full belief that she is doing the right and best thing for everyone #i have feelings #okay?
