I asked the sky, "Who will cry when I die?"

 And to my surprise, I received a reply.

A man with a fishing rod reeled in the sun,

Who spoke for the sky and said, "Everyone." 

However, I made a grimace so wry, 

For though seemingly wise, his reply seemed a lie, 

For I’m but a shadow concealed in the night, 

None know I exist or read what I write. 

The wind whistled back, "You just don't know it,

 But you'll be the Galaxy's greatest poet,

Lighting the corners of space with your rhymes,

 Paving a poetic pathway through time!" 

My rhythm is dull, though, my rhymes are dry! 

I’m old-fashioned! Outlandish! Awry! 

So why am I thus to this great poet be? 

No poem of mine can be called poetry. 

 I screamed at the sky, looking sharply away 

In shame. "The universe whispers your name," 

The sun beamed, "We believe in you, why can't you?" 

 I replied, "I just don't see how it could be true." 

And I straight understood to ne’er think of dying, 

For no matter the person there’ll e’er be someone crying.

 The sky or the wind or the man in the sun, 

A fool will claim all truth to know: We exist in predicted plight, None dare tell Fate which way to go. Whether the course runs fast or slow, "Ah- the end is clear in sight!" A fool will claim all truth to know. A tension that begins to grow, Leading lovers toward a fight; None dare tell Fate which way to go. "For they were destined for that show Of passion in its day and night;" A fool will claim all truth to know.

The spring brings rain, and winter, snow, If everything is just and right; None dare tell Fate which way to go.

Chaos can disrupt the flow, Leaving questions at its height; A fool will claim all truth to know, But none dare tell Fate which way to go.
