Seven emerging designers to get on your radar now
Get to know a number of of the designer’s showcasing at this yr’s Emerging Artist Collective runway. For younger designers, scholar runways are a significant method to have their work seen on a nationwide stage. Often instances, they’re within the remaining phases of their programs, refining their expertise on conceptual collections which can be show-stopping shows of creativity. At the opposite…
Microphilanthropy Works: Divine Arts Mural Project
The key to building quality relationships with other art enthusiast is reputation management. Showing yourself to be dedicated to the art and the art movement is more than a High membership. It is sharing resources, opening doors for other emerging creatives, supporting art fully and seeing beyond the moment. This is the true test and it is the strategy needed for sustainability and success.
Creating is a full time job that is mental, physical and emotional and requires support on all levels. Not all creatives are fortunate enough to have someone to support them. Having a representative alleviates the need for the artist to have to stretch their mental muscles as they prepare to flip between the creative aspect of art - creating and the business aspect of the industry - sustaining.
Divine is fortunate; she is represented. I have accepted the responsibility of building her brand, exposing her as an abstract artist and exhibiting her art. However, this is not done without support. Crowd sourcing is a wonderful way to create support. It opens the door for crowdfunding which has proven to be successful. (Kickstarter coming soon.)
Microphilanthropy works; it provides a space that maintains the cycle of art. I read an article I believe it was in the New York Times that quoted Ruby Lerner (of Creative Capital) that said "...mass micro-philanthropy is a really interesting [new] phenomenon."
This concept of supporting artist is not new, it's just newly branded. Collectors and benefactors are staples in the world of art. Benefactors give to the artist → artist create without limitations → curators exhibit created art → and collectors buy created, curated, exhibited art. What a beautiful cycle; the simplest of concepts actualized - those with means give, those with talent create and those who appreciate collect.
It simply boils down to community - the artist industry is a community of representatives, curators, creatives, benefactors and collectors who understand the importance of art and respect the space artist need to create without distraction.
Today, I am reaching out for your support so that Divine can create without distraction. Currently, she is one of the only woman of color creating abstract murals in the City of Atlanta. A mural cost approximately $1100.00 to create. We are looking to raise $5500.00 to create several murals through the City.
I have attached an itemized supply list which will provide a breakdown of what she needs to make these wonderful murals happen. Please review it. Your financial gift is tax-deductible and can be sent to using the PayPal link provided below.

PS - Divine’s first commissioned mural is up in Kirkwood and the community is ecstatic. The feedback has been positive and supportive. We would like to create more and have already received the green light for two locations - Kirkwood and East Atlanta. Your contribution will make the City beautiful. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
COREY MULLANEY
Introduce yourself! Hello! My name’s Corey and I’m a twenty year old photographer living in Manchester, UK. What are some of your influences? My influences are drawn from all different forms of creativity, particularly pop culture, but I love anything from Ben Zank’s minimalistic nudes to David LaChapelle’s chaotic high fashion. I connect so intimately with the devotion to art and the way that an individual will give their soul entirely to the purpose of photographic expression. I also spend a lot of time listening to music because for me, it can inspire some of the deepest feelings and realisations and that is what I aim to bring out and show about myself through the work that I produce.
