"Hey, Sora, Happy Birthday." The Keybearer offered a small smile, holding out a gift-wrapped box, and waiting for the brunet to unwrap the contents.
"Here’s hoping you don’t have a pair like that, just yet…"
"Really?" Sora couldn't hold back his surprise, before he laughed a little bashfully. "Aw, Riku, you didn't have to get me anything. But thanks, man, I really appreciate it."
It was probably silly to imply that he wouldn't get him something for his birthday. But Sora figured inter-dimensional travel constituted as a good enough present. Which just made him a tad wary. Riku wouldn't have gotten him anything magical in front of his friends here, would he? He ripped open the package regardless, and peeked almost hesitantly under the lid. Then promptly tossed it off. "DUDE!" He picked up one of the shoes from the box and examined it every which way, stopping at the symbol on the sole and practically jumping. "These are awesome! Oh man I gotta try 'em on-"
And the second he looked between the prominent shoe in his hand, and his more modest feet, he realized the discrepancy and winced. "...Aaaafter the party," He said quickly and put the shoe back to quickly cover it again. "Don't wanna get 'em dirty on the first day!" The boy saved, though with a nervous laugh. "S-so, uh, next one!"
