The Original Jimmy Mac
A "Jimmy Mac" is a romantic relationship between a man and a woman where the woman is older than the man. The term gets its name from of one of the greatest celebrity couples of our time, Anne-Marie Duff and James McAvoy. For some reason, the fact the she is 9 years older than he is makes everyone on Email Team so happy. And we needed to have a place to keep track of all the Jimmy Macs, because a lot of time we forget and then we're like "is that a jimmy mac? did we know that already?". So that's why we are having this tumblr now.
Here is some background information about our gold standard couple!!!!!:
They met on the set of the TV show Shameless in 2004 and fell in love!!!! At that time, McAvoy would have been about 24 years old, Duff 33. Here are some pictures of them, separate and then together.
Oh, they are so in love, it's wonderful! Anyway, they got married in 2006 and they are still married and they have a son named Brendan, so they are above average baby namers, in addition to having a fantastic age gap.
This is what James McAvoy said about having met Anne-Marie Duff:
"The world seemed less scary.... And I started to like myself a little bit more."
That's pretty romantic!!!
Ok, also, one time I read an interview with her in a beauty magazine where she said he thinks she is most beautiful right when she wakes up in the morning, but unfortunately I cannot find that right now on google. But I didn't make it up! I specifically remember stuff like that about them because they are great.
