“- he sounds like a complete, utter ass.”
“He is a complete, utter ass.” Colin laughed. “I still can’t figure out why I was ever so torn up about it.”
“Sometimes we get attached to people we probably shouldn’t, I suppose. “ Elysar sighed to himself. His mind trailed back to his relationship with his father for a brief moment. “We get so caught up seeking that one person’s approval that we kind of lose sight of other important things in the process.”
“I guess as long as we’re finally able to realize it and snap out of it, there’s no harm in it.” Colin smiled. “Chock it up to a learning experience.”
“He doesn’t....” Elysar’s brow furrowed, and Colin’s lifted in curiosity. There was a hesitation, and a strange tone in Elysar’s voice. “-he doesn’t still torment you does he?”
“He tries.” Colin chuckled. “I can usually shrug it off. Usually.”
Elysar said nothing; he watched the shift in Colin’s expression as he continued to listen.
“Most of that’s my own fault though.” Colin mulled. “Never have had a very thick skin.”
