delilah came to this coffee shop everyday. it was her absolute favorite place to go, not only could she get away for awhile, but she could catch up on reading or even just writing, as if she didnāt do enough for doing the both of those things. she had arrived pretty late, so it was already crawling with people, she ordered her coffee and slid across from a stranger, laying her messenger bag on the chair next to her. she sipped at her coffee and finally spoke, āi hope you donāt mind, itās a bit more crowded than usual.ā she laughed awkwardly as her eyes fell upon the strangers book. āyouāre reading āthe spook that crept behind the door?ā one of yorkeās best works, it terrified me when i was six, canāt say iām too scared of it now.ā she refrained from revealing just yet that it was because her father published the book when she was six, it was there on the second page, āto my daughter delilah, for not being afraid of anything.ā
