When even the Goddess herself has nightmares
"LORD, FORGIVE ME"
oh man this is another harry potter-esque question are u ready? what would your OCs see in the mirror of erised?
These were really hard (except for Maksha’s), this is a good question uvu
Maksha would see herself lounging across the throne of Tamriel with the heads of Ulfric Stormcloak and General Tullius under each foot. Krashath would be standing off to one side, stock-still and motionless, just a bare suggestion of scales and slitted yellow eyes in a slant of shadow, and a huge pile of gold to the other side of the throne. Also Scouts-Many-Marshes in some sort of skimpy outfit.
Thunder would see himself in a burning wasteland with broken, charred bodies and heads on spikes, and a massive mound of sugar cubes with his master sitting on top. #dreambigassholes
Steps-in-Silence would see herself standing on the crest of a cliff, looking at Skyrim, dragon-free, with no Thalmor or war or strife or suffering. Unlike the rest of my little hellions she’s a selfless person and wants to see Skyrim free of the war and bloodshed that it suffers day to day. That’d make her happiest. And Ghorza’s hand in marriage is a nice bonus ;>
Eltris would see himself as someone else. He wouldn’t be a Thalmor. He’d be a blacksmith, or a hunter, or a Companion. Or he’d see himself sitting in a temple of Mara, feeling peaceful and cheerful in the face of forgiveness, with Farkas sitting beside him fidgeting like the bored five year old he truly is and sunlight filtering through the colored glass windows and catching on dust motes. These motherfuckers all have really poignant wants idk they should be poets instead of psychos.
Redka, contrary to popular belief, wouldn’t see herself with her family again. Unlike everyone else, she knows how to move on. They’re dead, and she misses them more than anything, but she can’t change the past and doesn’t try. She lets dead things lie. Instead, she’d see the Thalmor Justiciar who killed her parents dying, and only that.
Frande has conflicting wishes. Depending on what point in the story the question was presented to him, he would either see himself: lying on a mound of hay beside Bellwyn at night, fifteen again, listening to her breathe and watching Goldentrot shift, muscles rippling dull gold, in his sleep. OR he’d see himself sitting in the middle of buttfuck nowhere with a book and Redka sleeping with her head in his lap and drooling on his pant leg

what does YOUR ocs smell like?
Steps-in-Silence: Pine needles, rabbit fur, and not much else. She tries to remain as scentless as possible to help with hunting. Sometimes she smells like deer piss. ‘cause, you know, hunting
Maksha: Fur, that smell that cats have (I call it eu de cat), something spicy and incense-y, a tiny bit of fish, and no matter how hard she scrubs or how many times she rinses, the Rat Way’s gross sewer water.
Redka: Flowers, magic (which is sort of sharp, cold, and ozone-y in my mind), singed hair, and sometimes blood, depending on whether she’s had a fight or not. Which is always.
Frande: Leather, horse, sweat take a bath you filthy hobo, the smell of linen on account of that dumb old shirt he wears all the time, and whatever alchemical ingredients he has on him at the time.
Eltris: Werewolf fur (Farkas is a cuddler), sweet rolls, that weird musky smell that dudes have, except more pristine and elf-y.
Thunder: Darkness and the tears of children.
Skyrim Characters Masterpost
This is Steps-in-Silence. She's a chubby (unfortunately I couldn't make her chubby in-game) Bosmer who was raised by Argonian hunters, which is why her name is Argonian. She's kind, cheerful, a little socially awkward, and tends to babble a lot. All she wants to do is make a difference in Skyrim for the better. She tags along with Cyrus (my brother's character, and the canon Dovahkiin of our story) and Lyra (my sister's character) and makes sure they don't starve themselves with their shitty hunting skills.
Redka is a pint-sized Dunmer who has absolutely zero patience for anything that isn't flammable or treasure. She's young, fiery, with a temper that could burn down a forest and magic to back it up. She was raised as a cabbage farmer, but her farm was burned down by Thalmor, and she was left dying in the wreckage. Sheogorath healed her on the condition that she'd find and steal Wabbajack from its current owners, and cause as much mayhem with it as humanly possible. Her treasure-hunting partner and pseudo-parental guardian is Moham'Jdar (who belongs to my brother). Canonically her chest is so flat it's practically inverted, but as we all know, you don't get much body type leeway in-game.
Maksha (my first Skyrim character) is a Khajiit thief. She steals from everyone and anyone, and has little in the way of a moral code. She's sly, manipulative, smooth and in-control, and an excellent leader and businessperson, though she doesn't like killing and avoids it as much as she can. She's working hard to make sure the Thieves Guild becomes an organization to be feared again, and has Krashath (who belongs to, you guessed it, my brother), a vampire Nightingale, as a sort of pet havoc-wrecker for those who cross her. She is also in possession of Wabbajack, as she and Krashath want to build an arsenal of Daedric artifacts...
Everybody needs a stuffy old Thalmor. Eltris fills one of these requirements: he's stuffy and snooty, but not old. Yet. He's a high-ranking Thalmor spellsword who specializes in ice magic, but doesn't hate Talos-worshippers and Stormcloaks as much as he should. Recently he's found his conscience is louder than usual, and he's having a much harder time overlooking the atrocities his organization commits. He also has a werewolf fetish, courtesy of Farkas. He travels with Boilies (my sister's Nord) after leaving the Thalmor.
Frande (who looks really old in-game for some reason but is actually quite young and also wears a green hood) is a mean little bastard of a Breton. He's snarky, rude, has little to no respect for authority, and is absolutely brimming with exactly the kind of humor no one likes: the obnoxious kind. He likes little in this world besides Thunder the Murder Horse (that's what everyone calls him, save for Frande, on account of the fact that if it moves, Thunder will murder it) and would like nothing more than to roam the countryside with his beloved companion until they both drop dead or are killed by dragons. His buddy is my brother's Argonian writer/brawler, Marcello.
