1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

Active fanfic: “in a string of days, a year is gone”, which is my first Darkwing Duck fic, a look into Drake and Gosalyn’s first year living together, post-“Let’s Get Dangerous!” It’s two chapters, first chapter’s up and the second one is almost finished. What I’m loving most about it is just actually enjoying writing again, and just writing new characters and a new fandom, it’s fun!!

Original work: still untitled (though leaning towards Girl’s Best Friend again bc fuck my professor he was a bad professor anyways) heist book, loosely based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Progress has slowed since I’ve been out of school, but I’m like a third of the way through?? Which is cool. What I love most about this book is bringing a bunch of characters to life that mostly have existed as one-dimensional ocs and putting a slight twist into one of my favorite genres.

10. How would you describe your writing process?

Usually it starts with a vague idea, then the actual writing happens when I think of dialogue and the scene just kinda builds around a line or two of dialogue and then I just string a couple of scenes together until I have an actual plot!

24. Would you say your writing has changed over time?

1. What’s your personal favourite thing you wrote this year?  Well original fiction wise it’d have to be my book (holy crap I wrote a book) but fanfic wise I’d have to say Slice of Humble Pie my no capes DC au about the arrows, bats, and high school marching band. (What can I say, I like writing incredibly niche aus but are we surprised? No.) 

10. What, if anything, are you going to try to do differently in your writing in the new year?  Well, going back to the book thing, I need to work on not rushing my action scenes and ensuring that I’m “carrying the current” (to quote my former english teacher/one of my betas) all the way thru. I think I’m also going to try and be more experimental in my writing. Aka, do whatever I want and especially if it’s quirky so long as it’s something that I’m having fun with and makes me happy.

- birthday presents i got from @starlessandstirless - the sunflower i planted started blooming! - dyed my hair dark green and... -... chopped it all off a couple of months later - inside a forest near my house at 5.30 in the morning when summer just started and everything started to feel a lot more alive again - some plants that i bought at the beginning of spring. sadly i only managed to keep two of them alive

1. What was the first fandom and/or pairing that you wrote fic for? The first fandom I wrote fic for was DC Comics and specifically the batfam. I wrote a “patrol report” as Batgirl for a friend as a part of her Christmas present in middle school. 

I mostly write gen stuff and even the early fics with relationships they were definite background or could very easily be viewed as gen. The first fic I wrote where I actually intentionally developed the pairing is Paper Petals and the pairing is newsbians. And the only reason I even wrote it was because I was sick of reading Flower Shop AUs that just made no sense as someone who grew up in a flower shop. 

17. What fic are you most proud of? I’m going to go with Three Card Draw because I put a lot into it and really had fun with using myths and kinda pulling from other modern mythology stories to make my own which I think turned out really cool. Beyond that I’m really proud of the way I developed Enj and R and how they interact from beginning to end. And my nuggets of foreshadowing. I tried so hard on those.

19.  Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to write about? Why? Easiest are def Katherine Plumber, Enjolras, and Stephanie Brown because I really vibe with them. Like there’s large chunks of their characters I identify with so it’s easy for me to pull some of my own traits and language. For Enj and Steph I definitely exaggerate the traits I identify with because they’re both people whose resting level is a 9 and I’m with Kath at a solid 6. But yeah, it’s def a write what you know when I dig into the them. And Mia Dearden recently? But that’s just because she’s a sassmaster and I haven’t interacted with real people so there’s a lot of sarcasm that needs an outlet. 

Hardest? Bruce Wayne. I don’t really have a clear voice for him and like I can handle people interacting with him but I just know I couldn’t handle him interacting with other people because he’s just the worst combination of a dramatic ass, petty, introvert and I just can’t get the balance right.
