As I send out this newsletter, we have just heard that the hostages held in Gaza by Hamas may be released soon.  The anticipation of this event eclipses nearly all recent news (good and bad) and brings hope that global prayers during the high holy days have been answered.  Meanwhile, many of the positive news in this newsletter reflects the anticipation of huge future benefits from the latest Israeli activities, research and discoveries.

Recent Israeli developments include AI analysis of ECG images that can detect and prevent future heart attacks. Analysis of liver fat can direct obese children to switch to a healthier diet. And European funding should lead to an Israeli portable MRI machine.

Women from across the Middle East gathered in Israel to work for social change. And environmental benefits should proliferate from the arrival in Israel of the Climate Prize Solutions tour. Meanwhile, Israeli universities are mass-producing the next generation of entrepreneurs.

We anticipate those serving in the IDF to achieve their academic goals, thanks to increased educational support. The new rehab center in Ramla should get many wounded back on their feet. And UJA-FNY funding for Israeli recovery projects are certainly appreciated. I personally wait with anticipation to taste the new "Single Be'eri" whisky, made using barley from the resilient Gaza perimeter kibbutz.

Israeli technology can save the world's bee population. Israel (Iran please note) has developed the world's first system to replenish a freshwater lake with desalinated water. Israeli corals have survived four recent heatwaves. Israeli eggs don't require chickens and Israeli real strawberry sundaes don't require real strawberries.  I anticipate a future where you can fly to the office in an Israeli electric plane; where any lonely senior citizens can have an Israeli AI companion; and where everyone can ride in an autonomous taxi powered by Israeli technology.

Finally, on the 5th anniversary of the Abraham Accords I anticipate a future world that will embrace Israel as a true "light to the nations".
