Elliot’s
Elliot’s has been a mainstay of Borough market for a while and I’d always heard good things about it, especially about their burger. Keep on reading for what we thought of it when we visited recently.
We started off with a burrata and plum tomatoes. The burrata was rich and creamy and the tomatoes were super sweet; a great start to any meal!
We ordered this massive chunk of monkfish. It came with a green dressing and that big dollop of mushroom puree. The fish was fresh and meaty and the mushrooms added an amazing savoury flavour complimenting the fish.
A big ass pork chop. I think this was my favourite dish of the meal! The pork was really good quality and cooked perfectly to just still being a bit pink in the very middle. This was just an example of great ingredients done simply but oh so well.
Having heard so much about the Elliot’s burger, we couldn’t leave without ordering it and now I know why. The patty to bun ratio was great as the patty was nice and thick. The cheese was cheesey and the bun was really good too. I have to admit though, it was the potatoes that really did it for me. So crispy on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. So good!
This was a dish of samphire and mushrooms topped with an egg. This smelt amazing. All the mushrooms gave this dish an almost truffley smell and it tasted delicious as well. Again, a super well executed dish!
One last veggie. You can just see the courgettes, crushed hazlenuts and kale in it. Super fresh, super healthy and just really tasty.
I have to admit, the meal here was great! All the food was really good and I’d definitely be more than happy to come here again!
