rory had slept like shit, the fight between her and xavier weighing heavy on her heart. she couldn’t believe they had let it come to this. her screaming at him the way she did - him behaving the way he did. she wasn’t sure how they would ever come back from this. she was the kind of hurt that lingered in her chest and made it feel like it was hard for her to breathe. the blonde woke up earlier than she would have liked, puffy eyes and a dry throat reminding her how much she had to drink last night, and just how hard she had cried. she gets out of bed, pulling a plain white tank top over her head and a pair of blake gym shorts. legs carry her slowly to the kitchen, getting herself some water and starting a pot of coffee. she knows xavier will be over soon - there’s no way he slept any better than she did, and she was sure he would head over unannounced again. despite that being what get them in this mess, twice now. she chugged as much water as she reasonably could without feeling like she’d entirely filled her stomach, swallowing some advil along with it. while she let the coffee brew she washed her face and brushed her teeth, she had just finished when she heard the front door open, a sigh spilling from her lips. her arms fold over her chest, her body language already showing she was on the defense here. she had left xavier’s jacket by the front door so he would see it and hopefully know to take it with him when he left. “good morning.” she comments, keeping her expression neutral and her tone indifferent. “i still stand by not thinking there’s anything left to say between us, but i’ll hear you out if you have something to say.” her eyes stay planted firmly on the floor, her gaze never raising to greet him.
